Lake in my Kitchen

I had a great time with my family today! Saw my nephew which is getting cutter by the minute! When he smiles I just want to squish him! Lot's of craziness that only family members are capable of... To enjoy more of this nice day I decided to go to the movies. Saw Resident Evil 3. Cool! Liked a lot. More than the other two in fact.
So as I get back home, exhausted, I go to the kitchen and find what? A lake. A huge lake inside my kitchen. It rained for a few hours in the evening and it was windy too. The wind blew a piece of cloth I have in my backyard and covered the drain. I live in the second floor, so I need that drain so I don't get flooded. And after hours of rain and no drain, all the water entered the house. Lots and lots of water. Such a nice surprise. My hidrovac was full in five seconds as I attempted to suck in the water and after two trips to the backyard carring a bucket full of water I decided to go the old fashioned way. It was a hard fight, because the house is so well projected that the water runs towards the inside, instead of the outside. So as I pushed the water out, it came running back in. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 9PM and I'm washing the kitchen. A very funny scene, I'm sure. The other good piece of news is that half of the corridor going to the bedroom is completely wet. A carpeted corridor. It now smells like a wet dog. I don't even want to think the work I'll have tomorrow to clean that up. I'll have to use the hidrovac again (because I think my neighbors will complain if I start it now at 10 of the night) leave all doors and windows open and a fan would be nice too, if I had one.
So that's how my very nice day ended. A true disaster. That's just my life...
