The Daedalus Variations

I saw The Daedalus Variations last night. I loved it! Being spoiler free is so awesome! There was only a few problems with the connection (and not from my end, grrrr) that slowed down a few parts and I missed a key scene (again, grrrrr). The most annoying part is that the connection never failed during the commercial brakes, only during the episode itself (more grrrrrrrs).
But this episode really surprised me. I need to watch it again to catch the parts I missed and have a better idea about it. I was also tired and needing to go to bed to wake up today at 5am. This means this post could suffer alterations due to my state of mind. Namely one of a zombie that needs lots of wine and sleep.
I wish the image quality weren't so crappy in TVU. But if it weren't I wouldn't be able to watch it, because if it failed even for a terrible image... These dark episodes get really hard to watch. To have an idea, in Broken Ties, I completely missed the part in which Shep has two guns, in the most awesome and HOT manner, and only realized what was happening in the downloaded version. So if I got anything wrong just tell me, so I can take a better look after I see it again.
I liked how the episode felt from beginning to end. It's a bit creepy being in a ghost ship that is a replica of a ship that is actually in another galaxy. Specially if you happen to find a version of yourselves dead inside (the part I didn't see and only heard, because the image decided not to work, and nearly made my screen be tossed to the floor in rage).
I loved how Teyla now can work her way around computers, and how she helped Rodney. I really, really liked it. Now, that's character development. I liked her comment about the baby (I forgot his name, is it Torrin?). I also loved how the team split up differently from usual, with Rodney going with Ronon at the beginning, and then changing to different dynamics. We had Ronon and Teyla, Rodney and Teyla, Ronon and Shep...
I found those new enemies a little strange. I didn't get a good look at them too, but they are really hard to kill. More so than the wraith at the beginning of the show. Scary too if you consider the blurry image I was getting. I wonder if they'll show up again, and who the hell were they.
I loved the little Rodney/John moment. Heh. Opposites *grins like a happy fangirl*.
There were cool explosions, shooting and pretty bright lights on our hero's faces. That's always good.
Two Sheps again. And one in a fighter. Talking to our Shep. Exchanging compliments. Too much dorkiness for my poor brain to cope.
Ronon smashing against the controls of the rail guns is completely made of win!
We had Shep feeling all hot and sweaty. Too bad I didn't see anything due to blurriness.
Lorne in charge! *explodes in goo* And he looked hot too. *fans self*
Zelenka was in it!!!
Where the hell was Woosley? I missed him.
And they didn't manage to keep the second Daedalus. But I already knew that.
Loved the little thing at the end with the Jumper being sent to space trapping the team inside the ship. Shep and space suits. He's so smart. How stupid am I for not thinking about that?
Why was it a woman in charge of the Daedalus and not Caldwell? I wanted Mitch Pilleggi (sp?)!!! But I guess if it was him, they wouldn't have lost the ship in the first place, heh.
I'm nearly banging my head against the keyboard, so I think it would be a good idea to stop now.
