My Fantastic Four 2 Review
Jun. 30th, 2007 11:04 amI watched Fantastic Four 2 yesterday and now I'd like to share some of my thoughts about it. Beware of minor spoilers ahead. Not too big though, I don't want to give too much away.
It's a fun movie. It's a film that is supposed to entertain and it does that very well. It's a story about family and teamwork and has a simple plot. While many reviewers say that it is a bad thing to have a simple plot, I disagree in this case. This is meant to be a blockbuster film and not a great theatrical drama worth of a best motion picture Oscar. It is a good option to go and take the whole family to have a very good time.
Now, on my thoughts about characters I disliked Jessica Alba as Susan Storm (and from what I've been reading it is a general feeling), but really liked Reed Richards, Ben Grimm and most especially Johnny Storm. He was perfect and spot on (and HOT too, sorry about the pun). He shone in his part of his plot with all that was going on with him and I loved his interaction with the rest of the family in particular with the Thing. Also all his action scenes were really cool.
I felt that Dr. Doom was also not quite there. He felt off to me, but I'm not a comic book expert. Far from it. I didn't even know what the Fantastic Four were until I saw the first movie. I can't put my finger on it but there was something wrong with him. On the Silver Surfer I wish that they had given more screen time with him, because his inner doubt plot was very underdeveloped in my opinion. Questions float away on my mind about his reasons to do what he did. Maybe because I don't know the comic books.
For example:
Question, questions, questions... I could go on and on. If anyone reading this knows these answers, I would love to hear them.
