Am I suposed to tell stuff about me here?
May. 11th, 2007 08:26 amWell since this is MY Live Journal, I thought I should post something about my day on occasion. So here goes.
I'm just praying not to get sick, because I'm feeling the very early symptoms of a cold since yesterday, but it's not so bad. I don't know what is wrong with me, 'cause I rarely get sick... usually like twice a year, and sometimes it only lasts a day... I guess that's a good thing, right? I hope this is one of those false alarms. I don't even get flu shots... Well, but when it hits... it's bad. Last year I couldn't even speak for two days. Every time I tried, not even a wimp came out and I got so tired after such a ridiculous effort to make a sound. I don't ever want to get that sick again.
Well... today the guys are coming to install the sign to my office! I'm so excited! To be able to come to MY office and see MY name with Dr. in front of it! I never thought it could happen. Well... okay I knew it would happen, but I don't usually look ahead into the future to imagine how things are going to be and feel.
We (meaning me and my family) are finally getting over this burglar thing that happened to us on Easter. It was horrible. Those burglars were idiots that barely knew how to read and sometimes did or said things that were so ridiculous that I had to fight really hard not to laugh, 'cause they had three guns pointed at us. I shudder only to think about it. How such dumb and stupid people manage to cause such fear (and pity too) on others. The house had no insurance and they took everything, even all of my brother's clothes (including underwear!) and our food. The best part of it (and I say this on the most sarcastic manner) was that it was Saturday before Easter, so there was nothing opened on Sunday and we had nothing whatsoever to eat. And they took our Easter Eggs!!! There was no chocolate for us! How unfair is that? They took our car too, including the car documents, but the car was fortunately insured. The not so bad thing was the we were selling that car to pay debts (that came for putting MY office together), so the insurance money came in good measure (they paid more than we were ever able to sell). The money came and already went by and I had no taste of it. We are using some of what is left to buy the stolen appliances, microwave, TV and DVD player, so I can have something beside Uno, Scrabble and War to do when I'm home. The rest we are using to pay the stuff we had bought before they were stolen from us, so unfair that we still have to pay for the stuff is not even ours anymore. Our new documents just came in, well, except for my professional ID, damn bureaucracy. To make things really crappy for all days since Easter my Stargate DVDs were stolen too, the movie and the SG1 first season (the only season I had, because DVD boxes are so expensive...).
